The contract was extended in December of 1995 with a base pay of $110,000 per season. Doesn't seem strange at all that they would offer a pay cut or that Larry would accept it...given the circumstances.
Base Salary...Come on man you are better than that. Last Base Salary I can find prior to that was 82,500 in 90.
So was it really a pay cut or is that misinformation.
I think this statement by Finch has more to do with his firing than his health
Quote:Finch says he's underpaid, doesn't have control of scheduling,
that a drop in home attendance is racially motivated, and that some boosters hope he will fail.
That was his death nail...People were waiting for a proper time to pull the trigger...Don't bite the hand that feeds you.
You know what? You are hilarious. You are quoting stuff from the same article as I am. All the stuff you are quoting is supposedly true and my stuff is misinformation.
Quote:Come on man you are better than that
Again...WE ARE QUOTING FROM THE SAME ARTICLE. Incredible the zany things people will say when they have a singular idea in their head and the facts and common sense get in the way.
I am reading a timeline...Not an article and nowhere in that timeline is his health mentioned. In that timeline it states his contract was negotiated for a base salary 82,500 in 90 then got a raise to $110,000 in 96.
You say he took a paycut in 96...I don't think that is true...IS IT? If it is not true would that not be misinformation. Can you link me to article you are reading that states it was a paycut?
Come on Stammers just answer that 1 simple question was the $110,000 contract he signed in 96 a paycut?

If - or when - the big donors decide to release him, Pastner will leave with his full guaranteed salary through 2019. $13,000,000 as of now; knock off $2.65mm each year he stays.
Assuming, of course, that contract ain't extended.
Enjoy the game tomorrow, folks.
The $13mm is incorrect. He after this year, JP has 3 years left in his contract. The "kick in clause" doesn't enact unless a certain event occurs (Pastner is still the head coach on a date certain in 2018).
So, three years X 2.65 = $7.95 million.
