Gambling on college games is huge these days. Shoe companies are also deciding about the outcome of the games. You are naïve if you think that Memphis will get back to glory days in hurry. It takes time and you have to be patient. There is reason that Tubby is here but again people like Stam will not understand because they have very little knowledge of the game and what is involved. How can Tubby recruit when even his current players are target of this hostility??????

Exactly. I'm not into firing people (essentially putting them on the public dole, THEN guess who pays for their living expenses?) for exercising their first amendment rights. Not saying you SHOULD'T BE ABLE TO... I'm just saying it may be a poor choice to do so.

Racism here in town? Well color me surprised.

I want the Tigers to win just as much as the next guy, but I'm not going to attack the color of someone's skin or make physical threats because of it. In the end, it is just a game after all. The majority of people that are critical of Tubby don't have anything against him whatsoever, personally. Most are just critical of the job he's done. It is sad that someone would stoop to that level and make the rest of the fanbase look bad.

And it doesn't make any sense. Makes you think there must be some gambling aspect to it, because I don't see how anybody could take it that seriously.

I mean, are we to believe that love of your school, you're Alma Matre, and rah rah school spirit could result in such strong feelings? Is he (big assumption on the "he") so emotionally wrapped up in Tiger Basketball that he derives his self-worth from the success or failure of the team? Is it an embarrassment to him? Seriously, short of a gambling loss and a possible visit from a leg-breaker, this has got to be a metally disturbed individual.

I thinki it's pretty clear that it has nothing to do with love of school or sport (granted, I'm just going off those two posts - if there were other posts that alluded to that, I didn't see them.)

It wouldn't surprise me if it's a fake account, but even then, there's someone out there creating those thoughts that needs to be dealt with (whether they're disturbed or just filled with hate).

Hopefully MPD/UofM Police Services can get to the bottom of it.

Probably a Tiger basketball/SEC football fan, would be my guess.

Could be a legitimate crackpot, could be someone pretending to be something he's not, could be some kid playing games -- either way, it creates a bad look. Hope we find out.

At TT, Tubby did get racist calls but only revealed it when their fans were excited about going to NCAA. He said that the guy did call back to apologize.
