RE: How does everyone feel about our Admin now?
I thought our current admin was awesome yesterday and still do today. They are doing a lot of great things for the University but they are paying for the lack of investment in football over the past 30 years.

Y'all must not know the way the business world works-when a CEO (Rudd) has a major goal and directive but fails, said CEO can't/doesn't blame it on predecessors of 5 years ago. That won't fly in any business or academia. Think Jurich made excuses-no, he got the job done.

Led fans on that josh was gone and asked fans to come back to games in order to hit an attendance mark. Leaked the news that josh was staying and let it simmer down before making it official.

Bad contract to bball coach which bowen signed as well as outgoing president shirley raines. The bb program went to hell. Had to stick with josh because we needed the money for the big 12 they said . Got lucky he left like he did. Very very lucky and we all know it.

Failed to get into big 12 conference.

This proves that people can see anything as negative. What exactly could they have done to keep going today? And when exactly did they lead anyone on about Pastner?

You know, you can look at these two things in a positive way, too, don't you? I see that Fuente was going to leave regardless. We offered him and incredibly rich contract and he left anyway. I am impressed that they went out and found a somewhat unknown coach who has been nothing short of impressive so far. As for Pastner, I see that they busted their tails to reach the attendance mark and the saved our school money. I also see that they saved our school a ton of money and got to the exact same result...Pastner is gone.

Or it proves that people can sugarcoat a turd.

Are you sure we didn't offer that big contract AFTER hearing that fuente was talking and possibly going elsewhere? All of this within one year of signing his last contract where we could have given him BIG money. He had just completed one of the best tiger seasons ever and had the star qb returning. I will admit i have heard of another reason he left which is understandable, but if you had given him more money earlier, maybe he stays. It's hard to say either way.

Back to pastner. The u of m hinted pastner was gone and begged fans back. They got their attendance record and then the news that josh was staying was leaked so the fans could vent and be in acceptance mode when it was officially announced. That is bush league.

In the public sector they do it all the time. They blame weather, prior market conditions, current market conditions, government regulations, tariffs, things others did, things others didnt do, things others did but could have done differrently. A conference call is not only achievements. Its answering questions about disappointing earnings with excuses. Some are valid, some arent. Sometimes predecessors did put a company on shaky financial footong. And the progress is relative.

In this case, the progress is relative. Winning season, investments academically and athletically, all are advances over prior admins. In a conference call, they have points of progress to note.

The performance of prior admins is always relevant in public business, but the measure of it may not be accurate.

I really miss Brad Martin. He identified a lot of our weaknesses and set the University on the road to correcting them. Saying anyone is better than Shirley or R.C. is saying nothing. Heck, a college freshman could have done better than either of them, and actually been honest in doing it.

That is not to say we haven't improved greatly over those two clowns. They set us so far back, it may take fifty years to catch up, if ever. I wish Bowen and Rudd all the luck in the world.

Actually sometimes you can and should. If you don't think Rudd is doing a good job, which is ridiculous imo, what should he have done differently?

And, what the hell does Shaka Smart have to do with anything? He wasn't an option for us.

Maybe TSF donations would be higher if people donated dollars and didn't expect credit for in kind donations.

We overpaid Tubby is what Shaka has to do with it-who is worth more?

How about we judge Tubby after we actually play a game?

Anyone who knows anything about CBB knows we only have 2-3 High D1 players on our short roster-i will give him a chance but it don't look good-CBB writers/analysts agree

I'm not disagreeing but I will be happy to hopefully see a well coached team for a change.

I look forward to a long run by both of them. They have gotten us closer to the "promised land" of P5 inclusion than that clown show couple that used to be here. And if they stay for a while, I will revel in the fact that they are there and it ticks you off because your former insiders in the department that got ousted during the clean out aren't there to make you feel so important anymore.

Dude. Regardless of how the prior admin made you feel personally, this admin is so much better. It's obvious everywhere you look. If you want to try to push the agenda through this current adversity, just think back to the RC / BEast days. We didn't even get close to the BEast when everyone was getting in the BEast. And it was the BEast. So the shots at the Admin for this are a failure. It's night and day.

And if you want to talk about the Pastner days, we all know how that all started.

I love the new admin, but that is simply not true. RC had us joining a BCS conference. He is the benchmark. I know that is hard to believe, but it is true.

doesn't hurt that Denny Crum and Howard Schnellenberger set up the foundation for that athletic department before Jurich got there. Who was our Crum and Schnellenberger?
