You beat:
UT Chatanooga
UTEP
Houston
East Carolina
Sauthern Miss
Marshall
Akron
How does that make you better than an SEC team that you lost to at home?
How do you think Memphis would have fared if they traded a few of those games for:
Alabama
LSU
Auburn
Arkansas
You were 0-2 against two of the worst SEC teams in the league last year. I have to think you'd lose against the rest of the SEC field as well.
We would have stepped up our level of competition like we usually do had we played those teams. Plus, if we were in the $ec, our recruiting would be much better. Nobody can say how we would do if we played Arky (W) Bama, aub, and L$U. Also, we lost those games due to injury, not because you two were better. We still should have won both games but fell just short. I would not be using your logic based on last years results.

So what do losers of a crappy conference talk about? Bigger teams and conferences it would seem.

3 bowls in a row and a coach that is not a state-wide embarassment.

Either way, we were in the dance and Bowling. At least ya'll save on travel money.
I make a bet now, you won't go to a bowl this year either. It is amazing that with the world wide interest in Mississippi football you bunch of head buttin buffoons can't find somewhere else to post. I mean, with all the activity on the Miss board and all---((( chirp, chirp---chirp)
Don't try and clown us about our conf, you are not exactly burning up yours either.
Mississippi 2006-- football.
Memphis-LOSS
Mizzou-Loss
Kentucky-Win
Wake Forrest-Loss
Georgia-loss
Vandy-win

so--4-8, home for the holidays? Don't worry, their will be plenty of activity here during our bowl week so you can come over and feign superiority.

You are right; we only beat three teams last year. I'm just grateful I'm not a fan of one of those three schools. That would be really embarrassing.
At least this team went to a bowl game and NCAA, where did you guys go? You went to some lowlife Oxfart bar and bragged about how you beat up on Memphis, rock on dude.
You are right about one thing, last season drove many of us to drink. I'm glad to see that Eli's senior season loss to Memphis has been nullified since we went on to have a better season. I'm sure he appreciates that. We also had a better season that Texas Tech, so I guess we really went 12-1. That logic is fun.
By the look of that post I'd say last season did just that.

More to the point - Mississippi would not be bowl eligible if they played the TIGERS schedule this season! Yes, even with 8 C-USA games along with MEMPHIS and Tennessee as OOC games, the Rebels would NOT go bowling for a 3rd consecutive year. Mississippi would have yet ANOTHER losing season!!
Playing MEMPHIS' schedule this year would reap this result in all probably liklihood:
MEMPHIS - L
UT Chat - W
@ ECU - W
TENN - L
UAB - W
Ark State - W
Tulsa - L
@ Marshall - W
Southern Miss - Major L (big time @ss beating)
Central Florida - 2nd consecutive major L
Houston - L
@ UTEP - L
5 - 7, chumps!
If that happened, forget the bottle and grab the syringe. Booze isn't strong enough to offset the heartache and pain THAT would produce.

Quote:To answer your last question, if I'm a QB with a checkered past and I goof off academically I guess I want to play for O.
Which is exactly my point... How long will the guys that put in the work sit around while those that dont are coddled? "O" has proven himself to be a good recruiter...though I think the verdict is still out in Oxford... but managing talent is more important than recruiting it. "O" failed last year as a manager, and he isnt off to a very good start this year.

We also lost our starting quarterback in the 3rd play of our first offensive series in that game. What excuse do you have? Oh, yeah...You suck!
excuses excuses.... and all that talk about "we're even" doesn't hold any weight in that case.... we used 3 f'n quarterbacks last year.
Nice outfit - that thing is HOT.
