Location: The Gangbangin' G'town East Si-eeed
My location is a joke based on a quote made by an opposing player during basketball season; I guess you don't troll our board as much as I thought if you didn't get that.
Quote:I know it is hard for you to comprehend, but there will always be more business/opportunity in a town with 1 million people, than a town with ~14,000. There is practically no business/opportunities in Destin, FL but few would argue with you about Destin, FL being a better place to live than Memphis.
It's not hard for me to comprehend, but it must be hard for you to comprehend English because this was a major part of my point in the first place. There will always be more opportunity in a large city like Memphis in comparison with a small, podunk, hick town like Oxfart.
Quote:Quote:We are already competing with these schools on recruiting; and, right now it is on an unlevel playing field. If we were in the SEC, that would give us the leverage to go head to head with them...especially Tennessee and Alabama.
HARDLY you may get one standout a year and a great one every few years, but you're hardly competition for UT/Bama and the like.
We only get one standout a year and a great one every few years because we are on an unlevel playing field. We are still competing for recruits in the same areas year in and year out. And my point was (which obviously went over your head) that if we were in the SEC we would get more of those standouts and great ones from those areas instead of them going to Tennessee or Alabama.
Quote:Quote:And here is where you prove my point. Your state produces the most per capita NFL talent but you have only been a flash in the pan because outside of the SEC, you have nothing to offer.
Outside of the larger city aspect, you have nothing to offer. Not tradition, not facilities (football wise I speak here).
Well, once again, if you could comprehend English; you would have read that my point was the larger city aspect
is what we have to offer. I'm glad to see that you didn't try to counter my point with other things that Oxfart had to offer because that helps prove my point. I'll reiterate, outside of the SEC, you have nothing to offer.
And another point that I made (which must of flown over your head as well) was that we would have the facilities to offer because we would have BCS money coming our way to pay for them.
Quote:Quote:Like Tommy West said, "Not everyone wants to be a catfish farmer."
This is nothing but a childish attempt at an insult. I went to Ole Miss for 4 years, met thousands of other students, and not one person was studying to be a catfish farmer. I'd bet most catfish farmers didn't even attend college. But that wasn't his point. He was attempting to say that if you go to the Univeristy of Mississippi, you have no career prospects outside of agricultural means. As I said before, this shows a childish sense of humor and an extreme ignorance. Especially for someone who used to be employed by the University of Mississippi. I didn't just pull this comment out of context, it's only context is a demeaning one. I just chose it, as it was the most glaringly retarded comment you made. But for someone who avatar is from South Park and claims he is from the Gangbangin' G'town East Si-eeed, I can understand your ignorance on the subject.
And here is where your reading skills have failed you again; because you
did pull this out of the context of
my arguement. And only after I came back with an attacking diatribe (I hope these big words aren't throwing you off), did you come back with actual points to my original arguement.
Quote:Quote:The only reason we give a few SEC teams a year close games is because that's all we get to play.
You gave 2 of the worst, non-bowling teams last year a close game. By your logic, this means you would have been competitive in a full SEC schedule last year? Please pass whatever you are drinking, it must be good.
I saved this one for last because my response is the longest.
We lost 1 game because our quarterback was injured on the third play from scrimmage. We lost the second because our best player did not play a single down. I was also referring to year in and year out; not just last season. I believe 2 years ago we beat you in your own little hick town and had UT pay us $10,000 not to have to play us. And the year before we beat the best team that you've had in decades. So we may not come out with the best record in the world, but we could play competitively in a full SEC schedule year in and year out...especially if we were getting SEC money and SEC recruits. Don't believe me? Think I'm wrong here? Fine, let's switch conferences for 5 years and see what happens. You take our place in CUSA and we'll take your place in the SEC, and let's see what happens.
