For those of you with delusions that the New Who?-SA is going to be better than the New A10;
98-99 99-00 00-01 01-02 02-03 03-04 04-05
UAB 68 140 108 154 90 33 85
UCF 129 227 272 152 128 62 110
ECU 197 201 179 172 156 151 194
Houston 182 155 212 81 219 187 61
Marshall 75 93 105 171 196 150 240
Memphis 106 107 95 70 26 32 119
Rice 90 278 155 223 97 63 97
SMU 133 66 98 114 123 170 144

Tulsa 53 6 61 30 64 197 248
UTEP 113 91 62 93 301 46 50
Average 118 131 136 133 142 116 157

Charlotte 48 43 48 35 95 34 25
St. Louis 72 62 116 110 57 64 216
St Josephs 140 95 36 73 27 3 86
Temple 13 7 38 79 88 100 92
UMass 89 75 64 107 209 174 115
Fordham 183 139 148 233 289 211 181
R Island 49 240 234 225 85 82 307
St. Bon 136 55 69 84 140 198 320
GW 50 103 126 139 164 74 60
Dayton 116 54 72 63 13 40 112
Xavier 40 53 44 19 20 35 168
Richmond 165 100 43 74 93 47 136
La Salle 158 162 147 144 172 188 227
Duquesne 251 181 224 184 243 162 285
Average 108 98 101 112 121 101 166

Out of the last 7 years, the New A10 averages a better RPI every year except this year, which is admittedly a bad year for the A10 and the New Who?-SA is still only 9 points better.

cusa will pass the a-10 due to 1 reason, cusa plays football. the
a-10 cant stand up to conf that play football due to the
exposure those conf get. i am not saying cusa is better than
the a-10 just that cusa will grow to be better due to the
exposure it will get compared to the a-10.

Not to mention the decrease from 15 football games to 10.

As if the Memphis RPI isn't bad this year compared to what it should be.

A10 is a better bball conference, I'll admit it. I'd rather play Xaiver and St. Joe's than to play SMU and Tulane.

Sad but true. But then I'm not on here claiming that A-10 football is going to generate excitement amoung the nation like mike is about NCUSA.

Hopefully one day we will get football.

look i dont think either conf is much in basketball.
i do think cusa will fare better over time.
cusa will get more exposure and in turn will
be able to recruit better players. i am not
bashing the a10. just stating why cusa will be
viewed in a better light over time.

I don't know Mike, with the exception of you, UAB and Houston (this year) CUSA teams have had 10 years in this conference with the likes of Cincinnati, Louisville, DePaul, Marquette, you guys and us on their schedules and still weren't able to make any headway. Now that 8 out of the top 11 basketball teams in this conference are leaving I don't know much better basketball will get.

On the other hand, the A10 has been pretty good despite having 1 year-in, year-out top 25 and have made some noise in the dance the past few years. This year they are down, but next year they should see the benefits from last year's tourney run. I think the A10 just gets better by adding us and St. Louis (if Soderberg can get it together).

Should be interesting at any rate. Thanks for being willing to have a civil conversation.

uab hous would be fighting for the league championship in the a-10 this yr. uab would be competitive every yr in the a-10. even with the defectors the a-10 isnt ahead fo cusa. what will happen is
the teams that come out on top the next few yrs in cusa will
see an improvement in recruiting and exposure. think about it
louis cincy marq memphis charl are the teams they showed and talked about in cusa. these teams got the best recruits due to it. the same will happen just some new will benefit.
rihgt now i think ncusa and a-10 bball are on about par. i think
cusa teams have a chance to grow their programs faster than
the a-10 due to exposure. we shall see i hope both leagues
improve.
